Travel Essentials

Travel essentials when you’re on the go and away from home.

If you’re like me, business travel may very well be a part of your regular routine. I typically range being away from home anywhere from 3 to 7 days at a time, so having a piece of home or something to make travel easier is a game-changer.

I love finding out about great travel hacks or innovative products, so I have shared some that I love below! I hope any of these can make your travel life just a little more enjoyable.

AirFly

I love this product! Instead of the hassle of wired headphones on the plane, you can wirelessly connect your AirPods or any other bluetooth headphone to this so you don’t need to deal with a cord. Inevitably, you or someone next to you, will need to get up to use the restroom or stretch your legs, and with this, you don’t need to unplug your wired headphones in order to get out of your seat. Highly recommend!

Trifold Charger

This is my favorite travel charger. I love how it folds up for easy packing, can charge 3 devices at one time, and I also like to prop it up like a tent so I can watch my favorite shows as I’m falling asleep in the hotel.

Portable Phone Charger

Working in events, it’s essential that I have access to a phone charger whenever I need one. Before each trip, I make sure to charge this so I can guarantee myself access to power on the fly. It has a variety of cables for whatever you need to charge, and it can fit easily into a small bag or pocket.

Toiletry Hanging Bag

Over the years, my collection of products has only grown….and it drove me crazy to have everything tossed into an open bag. I got this hanging bag so I can keep everything protected, I can see everything when it’s hanging up in the bathroom, and so none of the over-priced bottles of anti-aging magic break in transit.

Silk Pillowcase

I sleep with a silk pillowcase at home because it keeps my hair from getting frizzy and ruining the curl I put in it the day before. When I have early call times and really long days, I need my hair to last and still look great day to day! This is an easy thing to throw in a suitcase.

Dagne Dover Backpack

There is a lot that goes into choosing a backpack….number of pockets, material, durability…I have loved this Dagne Dover backpack for a few reasons. I love the neoprene material - it feels just as new as it did when I got it a few years ago because it’s so easy to wipe down and keep fresh. It has a lot of pockets on the inside that help keep my little travel essentials organized. It also came with a small zipper pouch that clips to the inside and a shoe dust bag. It’s been a winner for me!

Packing Cubes

Packing cubes are a game-changer!! I use them for myself AND my kids, and it is so helpful to keeping travel chaos at a minimum. If I’m staying in a hotel for 3 days, I don’t necessarily want to completely unpack and move into my hotel room. But with packing cubes, I just pull them out and place the whole thing into a drawer, so they stay organized, but I can see everything I brought in each cube. I like to roll my clothes and pack everything side-by-side.

Spanx Pants

This might feel like a strange one, but I love these pants. They don’t wrinkle, they are stretchy, and they are flattering! Being an event producer, I live in black, and these are some of my favorite pants to keep me looking business casual in front of clients but very comfortable when I’m on my feet.

Portable Sound Machine

Do I have children? Yes. Are sound machines just for them? NO! I’ve ruined myself by requiring some nighttime noise in order to sleep, but this saves the day! This sound machine is teeny tiny, and I just leave it in my backpack as a travel essential. It has many different noise options and it stays on all night or you can put it on a timer. I’m not taking any chances for poor sleep when I’m away from home!

Travel Pillow/Eye Mask

My husband and I took a trip to Portugal last year, and we had an overnight flight to get us there. I dread these because I can never sleep on planes, until this trip! I bought this eye mask before we left, and we both actually slept around 5 hours with this thing! It keeps your head from bobbing, and it blocks out all of the light from the plane. I will definitely be using this again for any upcoming international travel.
